Saif Ali Khan: Will become a father whenever Kareena is ready

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor tied the knot in October 2012

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are one of the hottest couples of B-Town. The two tied the knot in October 2012 and naturally questions about their children have started cropping up time and time again. But the Phantom star, father to two children Sara and Ibrahim from his former wife Amrita Singh, is not hurrying the decision and has left it to Kareena to be ready for motherhood.
Speaking to PTI, he said, "I am in no rush to become a father. It would happen whenever she is ready for it."
Kareena too had recently said that she would like to become a mother in the next few years, but not right away. She is currently having a good run at the box office with the success of her latest release Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
"I think it is important for her to balance with huge blockbuster films where she has nice small roles and with smaller budget films that are about her. She is doing that balance really well. I am happy to see that," he said.
Saif also said that he shares a great relationship with mother-in-law Babita.
"I don't think we would have got married if I wouldn't have had a great relationship with them. I am fond of her (Babita). She is an honest and down to earth person. I share a good relation with Karishma as well," he said.
While Babita likes his work in Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail, he likes to watch Kareena in romantic roles like the one she played in 2007 release Jab We Met.
He was also asked about his children and whether they would like to pursue a career in Bollywood. Like any concerned father, Saif was clear that the two children must complete their education first.
"I think they both want to join films. Sara is doing well in studies but she has to complete her education first.. So, Sara first then Ibrahim. I want them to have a degree (first) and after that they can do whatever they want," he said.
